The soil and climate are well adapted to growing corn, cotton, wheat, peanut, alfalfa, Kaffir corn, maize, fruits, vegetables, poultry and live stock. Good land can be bought at from $25 to $100 per acre. Duncan has the commission form of government, churches of the leading denominations, an excellent system of public schools, modern business buildings, paved streets, electric light and water works plant owned by the city, pumping from inexhaustible deep wells, three banks, a progressive commercial club, whose members are quick to recognize their city's interests and welcome every legitimate enterprise, gas and oil have been located a few miles east of Duncan and the district bids fair to become another one of Oklahoma's great producers.
